SVA Helps Initiate First Military Services Appreciation Week

RICHMOND, Va — With Veterans Day approaching, Johnathan Hoggatt, president of the Student Veterans Association (SVA) discussed VCU’s first annual Military Services Appreciation Week.

“This semester we decided that veterans don’t just deserve Veterans Day, we’ve actually decided to make it an entire veterans week,” said Hoggatt, an United States Army veteran.

Military Appreciation Services Appreciation Weeks starts Monday, Nov. 7 and ends on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. All events are held on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. 

Some of the speakers throughout the week include Laura Browder, author of “When Janey Comes Marching Home,” and retired Lt. Col. James Zumwalt, U.S Marine and Vietnam veteran.
