African Art Stops at the Anderson Gallery

RICHMOND, Va — “The Environment and Object: Recent African Art” exhibition is on display at the Anderson Gallery on the Monroe Park campus. It is free and open to the public until Dec. 11.

The exhibition includes 16 contemporary African artists such as Bright Ugochukwu Eke, George Osodi, and Yinka Shonibare. Their art is inspired by daily materials and their effect on the African environment.

After leaving the Anderson Gallery, “Recent African Art” will travel to Middlebury College Museum of Art in Vermont from Jan. 26 through Apr. 22.
