Consistency and Change for VCU basketball teams

VCU men’s basketball head coach Shaka Smart has put down rumors that he would leave for a bigger program, which gives Smart a chance to use a new $25 million basketball practice facility set to open in July. The facility will serve both the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

The VCU men’s basketball team was awarded a 5-seed in the NCAA tournament, despite a loss to St. Joseph’s in the Atlantic 10 conference final. Head coach Shaka Smart and senior guard Rob Brandenburg hope to use the conference loss as motivation.

Three VCU soccer players face felony charges

Three VCU freshman soccer players have been charged with a felony for filming a nude minor.  The players have been suspended from the team while the school carries out a separate investigation.  At this time a trial date has not been set.
